BACKGROUND: Sarah Baumert is known for her thorough and diverse methods of instruction, her dedication to holding space for individual’s personal discovery and her investment in building personal relationships with her students. Sarah is a dedicated somatic practitioner with a history of exploring movement and the physical body. From an early age, Sarah’s training as a dancer introduced her to the mind body connection and the power that comes from the awareness of a precise alignment of the body. Sarah provides a combination of practical and whimsical elements in her teaching, resulting in a structured, safe atmosphere where students can play, explore, and re-energize.
Sarah's teaching is alignment based, unhurried, and rich with somatic inquiries. Her teaching helps deepen your sense of how to move, teaching you strategies for reducing effort and pain, and gaining coordination. She has experience working with bodies suffering from chronic pain, injury, illness, and other forms of disease. Sarah works with a variety of populations including athletes, seniors, artists, dancers, children, those who struggle with depression, and those recovering from injury.
